About Kiyose City Folk MuseumTHE MUSEUM
The Kiyose City Folk Museum is a silver-gray building surrounded by trees and wildflowers that recreate a wooded area in Musashino. It opened in November 1985 (Showa 60) as a new type of multi-functional museum to learn from the wisdom of our ancestors and to create a new civic culture.
On the first floor, there is an exhibition hall, a history exhibition room, a folklore exhibition room, a video exhibition room, and a coffee shop called "Museum Cafe Kiyo-se". In addition, a separate building houses a folklore studio where visitors can experience the lifestyle of their predecessors.
As a center of local culture, the museum offers a variety of programs that are familiar to all citizens, so please visit us.

BURIED CULTURAL about the procedures for buried cultural properties
There are currently 77 archaeological sites in Kiyose City. The Cultural Properties Protection Law defines these sites as "well-known buried cultural property reserves," and preserves and protects them.
Buried cultural properties (remains and archaeological sites) are valuable assets shared by the public and are important to preserve for future generations. However, due to their characteristic of being buried underground, there is a risk that they may be destroyed by development activities such as land development or construction of houses. Therefore, when development activities are carried out within the area of archaeological sites, procedures based on the Law for the Protection of Cultural Properties are required.
