Anyone from within or outside the city is welcome! training Three days in July 2025 (dates to be determined), updated as needed Training Location Kiyose City Folk Museum course content Overview about Zelkova Road Gallery, learning about each artwork, lectures, speaking lectures, on-site explanations by curatorial staff, hands-on training, etc. Recommended for Interested in Kiyose's history and culture, like to talk with people, etc. *No compensation or travel expenses will be provided for volunteers. *Participation in a 3-day course is required for guiding activities. KIYOSE Hometown Karuta" was created by the KIYOSE Hometown Karuta Production Committee in 2015 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the opening of the Kiyose City Museum of History. This year, we plan to visit three of the six temples (Entsuji Temple, Enpukuji Temple, and Tokoin Temple) featured in the karuta, listen to a talk by the temple's head priest, and view valuable cultural assets.
Kiyose's Uchihaori Permanent Exhibit has been Replaced May/June "Indigo Dyeing
The theme of this year's exhibition is "Aizome". Aizome is an ancient dyeing method that uses the plant indigo. In the city, there were several indigo-dyeing businesses called "konya," which were contracted by farmers and others to dye their products with indigo dye.
