Kiyose's Uchihaori Permanent Exhibit has been Replaced May/June "Indigo DyeingNEW
The theme of this year's exhibition is "Aizome". Aizome is an ancient dyeing method that uses the plant indigo. In the city, there were several indigo-dyeing businesses called "konya," which were contracted by farmers and others to dye their products with indigo dye. Periodic Closure of the Folklore Exhibition Room
The Kiyose Uchihaori, a National Important Cultural Property, is replaced every two months to protect the materials. The Folklore Gallery will be closed for one day during the following period due to the replacement of exhibits. Saturday, June 28
