Kiyose City Local History Museum Special Exhibition: “Kiyose and Tuberculosis: The History, Present, and Future of Tuberculosis Treatment”

Exhibition Overview Entrance to the Tokyo Prefectural Kiyose Hospital (date unknown; from a private collection) Tuberculosis, which spread throughout Japan starting in the Meiji era tuberculosis , the “Tokyo Prefectural Kiyose Hospital” was established in Kiyose in Showa 6. Subsequently, many tuberculosis sanatoriums and research institutes were established, and numerous people received treatment for tuberculosis in Kiyose. This exhibition introduces the history and role of Kiyose as a center for cutting-edge tuberculosis research and treatment.
