Let's all help maintain the sculptures at Keyaki Road Gallery!

Date: November 14 (Friday), 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. | Instructor: Mr. Naoto Takashima

As part of our museum programs, we held a hands-on sculpture maintenance workshop at the Kiyose Keyaki Road Gallery. Under the guidance of experts, participants had the opportunity to clean and wax the sculptures.

1. Cleaning

We use a special detergent to remove dirt from every nook and cranny.

2. Drying

Wipe off the moisture from the piece after rinsing it with water.

2. Wax

Bronze statues are coated with wax and polished thoroughly.

I polished up 11 pieces until they shone!

In 2025, we performed maintenance—including cleaning—on all the sculptures at the Kiyose Keyaki Road Gallery, as part of our routine maintenance for the first half of the year.
