Kiyose's Uchihaori Permanent Exhibit has been Replaced May/June "Indigo Dyeing

The theme of this year's exhibition is "Aizome". Aizome is an ancient dyeing method that uses the plant indigo. In the city, there were several indigo-dyeing businesses called "konya," which were contracted by farmers and others to dye their products with indigo dye. The exhibit introduces materials donated by the families that worked as konya, indigo-dyed kasuri, and other items.
