Former Morita Family Main House

This building is a relocated main house of the Morita family, originally located in Noshio (opened on July 16, Heisei 6).Based on a tombstone inscription (currently at Enpuku-ji Temple), the Morita family’s ancestors are believed to have settled in Nosio in the late 16th century; they are a long-established family that held the position of “name-holder” (meishaku) during the late Edo period. The main house is thought to have been built sometime between the mid-Edo period and the early part of the late Edo period.

- How to Use
- The Former Morita Residence, designated as a Tangible Cultural Property of Kiyose City, is a traditional Japanese house that preserves the culture of Musashino. To arrange a tour, please contact the Shimosuku Community Center. Additionally, if you wish to use the facility, you must apply in advance at the Local History Museum.
